Finding God in the Desert

Pastor Jeremy Peugh delivered a message based on Ezekiel 26-28, with some New Testament help. Here is the bulletin.

With our seeming prosperity or strength, do we forget about or lose sight of God or our need for Him?

Have we had moments where life is in shambles, when we turn to God and ask, “Where have You been?”

The desert is a common motif that flows through all of Scripture; Jesus in Gethsemane and Paul at the end are examples.

The desert brings temptation to leave the plan, His plan, and take a shortcut. Are we willing to be His when there is an Earthly cost?

Finding God in Disaster

The passage for this message is Ezekiel 25. See also 2 Cor 4:16.

The question is not if we will experience suffering or disaster but how we will respond when it happens.

There are some things that can only be lamented and grieved.

So then, if Jesus is in people’s lament, why do we avoid the lament. Perhaps some time in the Psalms of lament or the book of Lamentations is needed?

A Whole-Hearted People

Today’s passage is Ezekiel 24:1-14. Here is the bulletin.

We are chosen people of God.

The relationship we have with God is not a contract; rather it is a covenant.

Jesus is the offering that atones for all sin, backward and forward across all time.

God is passionate for His people to be holy.
